Bio
Blackburn assumed the role of head coach of the women's soccer program February 2025 after seven seasons as an assistant coach.
A Canada Soccer B License coach, Blackburn has coached with Halifax County United Soccer Club for eight years, working as a head coach of their youth programs and as technical staff for girls teams from U10 to U21.
In her previous role as assistant coach of the U17AAA girls’ team, Blackburn helped lead them to a Soccer Nova Scotia championship win and a bronze medal finish at the Canada Soccer Club National Championship last fall.
She has also worked with Nova Scotia’s provincial team programs.
Originally from Brookside, Nova Scotia, Blackburn played for the Acadia Axewomen’s soccer team from 2011-15 while completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology, Professional Studies. She helped the Axewomen to a second-place finish at the 2013-14 AUS championship and was named second team all-star in 2013-14 for her play on the pitch. Blackburn also played one season for Algonquin College while completing a graduate certificate in Sport Business Management, helping them to an OCAA championship title and a fifth-place finish at the CCAA championship in 2015.
She was also a member of the 2009 Nova Scotia Canada Games Women’s Soccer Team that placed fifth at the event hosted by Prince Edward Island.
