Kieran Collins named men's soccer head coach
Collins comes to the Mystics having coaching at various levels over the last 12 years.
Mount Saint Vincent University’s Director of Athletics & Recreation Angela Barrett-Jewers is pleased to announce Kieran Collins as the new head coach of the Mystics men’s soccer team.

A Canada Soccer B1 License coach, Collins is in the process of completing his CONCACAF B Diploma and is the Director of Operations with Halifax City Soccer Club. An assistant coach with their senior men’s team, Collins has been a Soccer Nova Scotia provincial team head coach since 2019 and spent five years with their Whitecaps Academy between 2017-2022.
Before assuming the role of director of operations, Collins served as Halifax City’s technical director for four years, leading player development, coaching education and curriculum design, implementation, and, evaluation. He joined Halifax City after a three-year tenure as the technical lead of boys programming with Halifax County Soccer Club from 2016-2019.
A Certified Learning Facilitator, Collins is a player-centred coach who focuses on technical development, tactical awareness and character building. He is skilled in designing training curriculums, mentoring coaches, and implementing strategic plans to enhance player development.
“We are very pleased that Kieran has agreed to become the head coach of our men’s soccer team,” says Barrett-Jewers. “He has a tremendous amount of experience in recruiting, tactical game planning, and athlete mentorship which will serve him well working with our current and future Mystics student-athletes. We are confident in his ability to foster a positive team culture while ensuring our student-athletes achieve success in the classroom, on the pitch, and in leadership development through community engagement.”
Originally from Coldbrook, Nova Scotia, Collins grew up playing in the Valley United Soccer Club.

"This is a team with great potential, and I’m excited to build a competitive, hard-working, and united group that represents the values of the university both on and off the field. I’m looking forward to getting started and working with these talented student-athletes."
Collins will begin his tenure as head coach on April 7, 2025.
