Bio

From Bedford, Nova Scotia, Coach De Palma is an MSVU alum (BA, 2011) who has been contributing to the sport of basketball both provincially and at the secondary level for over 15 years.

He began his coaching career with the CP Allen High School Cheetah’s basketball program and volunteered with Basketball Nova Scotia where he was the Head Coach of various boys U14-U17 basketball teams. Coach De Palma spent seven years in Wolfville, NS including five years as the full-time assistant coach for both the women’s and men’s basketball teams at Acadia University.

Over the years, he has been part of a number of championship teams, including the 2016 BNS U17 National Champions, 2018 & 2019 AUS Women’s Champions and in 2017, Coach DePalma was named Sport Nova Scotia Coach of the Year.

During his four seasons at MSVU (2021 to current), the Mystics have improved their regular season record each year and were 2022 and 2024 ACAA Champions. De Palma was named the 2024-25 ACAA and CCAA Coach of the Year.

Coach De Palma is also a Technical Director for the Halifax Hurricanes minor basketball club, and is fully committed to bringing passion, knowledge and establishing an inclusive environment for all coaches, players and teams.
