Fredericton, NB - In an intense rematch at the LB Gym, the Tommies narrowly fell to the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics 96-94.
The Tommies came out firing, taking control early and leading 26-15 after the first quarter. MSVU responded in the second quarter, closing the gap, but the Tommies held a slim 47-44 advantage at halftime.
The second half saw both teams trade blows in a high-energy contest. Mystics cameback in second half and MSVU's late-game composure and clutch plays ultimately secured them their second consecutive victory against the Tommies.
Jaydan Smith scored a team-high 30 points in the win, adding two rebounds, two assists and a steal in the effort. Adam Callaghan was also an offensive threat, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and an assist.
It was Noah McCarthy leading the way for the Tommies, scoring a game-high 34 points to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.
