Strickland and Tynes earn national honours
Basketball players Victoria Strickland and Chase Tynes were named CCAA All-Canadians.
The 2025-26 ACAA Player of the Year, Chase Tynes was named a CCAA All-Canadian at last nights national championship awards banquet. A third year arts student, Chase was also named the ACAA Dyrick McDermott Defensive Player of the Year in addition to earning a spot on the first all-conference team. The Lake Loon, N.S. native led the league in rebounds with 162, assists with 111, and blocks with 19 while shooting 64.5% from the field. He also averaged 13.6 points per game.
All men's basketball national award winners
Fifth-year biology and psychology major Victoria Strickland had a great season in her final year of eligibility. She averaged 13.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game this year to lead the Mystics to a second-place finish in the standings during the regular season. A member of the ACAA first all-conference team this year, the St. John's, Nfld. native started and played in 17 of 18 regular season home games this year and capped her five-year career off with a silver medal finish at the conference championships.
