Lawtons Drugs Athletes of the Week
Anthony Gallant, Ashley Neves, and Tristan Brocklehurst are this week's Lawtons Athletes of the Week.
Anthony Gallant
Second-year, Anthony Gallant, is this week's Lawtons Athlete of the Week for Cross Country.
According to Head Coach Linda MacDonald:
"Anthony competed in the 8K cross country race at STU in Fredericton this weekend, placing 13th out of 43 runners. This was a personal best for Anthony in his second year of cross country. He raced with confidence throughout and never let up. His dedication to training is clearly paying off."
Ashley Neves
Fifth-year Midfielder, Ashley Neves, is this week's Lawtons Athlete of the Week for Women's Soccer.
According to Head Coach Jenna Blackburn:
"Ashley Neves put on a dominant performance this past weekend, showcasing her versatility and endurance while playing 170 total minutes across two games at both midfield and striker.
In a tough matchup against the DAL Rams, Ashley was a constant offensive threat - completing 31 passes, leading the team with 9 shots (6 on target), and finding the back of the net with a well-earned game winning goal in a 3-0 win.
She followed that up with another strong showing on Sunday, completing 30 passes and again leading the team in shots with 4, three of which were on goal in a 1-1 tie against the Holland Hurricanes."
Tristan Brocklehurst
Third-year Goal Keeper, Tristan Brocklehurt, is this week's Lawtons Athletes of the Week for Men's Soccer.
According to Head Coach Keiran Collins:
"This past weekend, Tristan Brocklehurst was a standout performer between the posts, playing a full 180 minutes and conceding just one goal across two matches. Highlighting his impact, Tristan earned a clean sheet against Holland College, making several crucial saves to preserve the victory.
Beyond the stats, Tristan’s leadership from the back was instrumental in organizing the defensive unit and instilling confidence throughout the team. His consistency, composure, and big-game presence helped secure all six points on the weekend, proving once again how vital he is to the team’s success."
