Lawtons Drugs Athletes of the Week

Catherine MacPhail
Fourth-year left side, Catherine MacPhail, is this week’s Lawtons Athlete of the Week for women's volleyball.

Catherine led the Mystics offensively to two big wins over the weekend. On Saturday, against Crandall, she had 18 kills, 12 digs and 1 ace. On Sunday, she finished with a season-leading 23 kills, 17 digs and 2 aces.

A Sociology and Anthropology student, Catherine is from Halifax, NS.

Keezaidra Smith
Second-year guard, Keezaidra Smith, is this week’s Lawtons Athlete of the Week for women's basketball.

Keezaidra sparked the Mystics on both days coming off the bench. Her energy every minute on the floor was contagious. She contributed in several ways to help the Mystics secure two important road wins.

On February 1, Keezaidra provided 9 rebounds, 10 points and 4 steals while providing gritty on-the-ball defense. She followed that game up the next day with another high-energy performance, securing 8 points and 6 rebounds. Keezaidra also drew multiple fouls and her defensive skills forced the other team to turn the ball over, leading to high percentage points for the Mystics.

A Business Administration student, Keezaidra is from North Preston, NS.

Isaac Matheson
Third-year guard, Isaac Matheson, is this week’s Lawtons Athlete of the Week for men's basketball.

Isaac filled the stats sheet in both wins on the weekend. He secured 14 points and 7 rebounds on Saturday, and a game-high 25 points and 9 rebounds on Sunday.

A Business Administration student, Isaac is from Bedford, NS.
