Haylie Jackson
Second-year libero, Haylie Jackson, is this week’s Lawtons Athlete of the Week for women's volleyball.
Haylie led the Mystics defensively this past weekend. She took charge of the team’s serve receive and did a great job controlling the opponent's tough serving pressure. Against STU, she had 14 digs and 5 assists. Against UNBSJ, she had 10 digs and 3 assists.
A Biology student, Haylie is from Fall River, NS.
Amanda Pearcey
Fourth-year guard, Amanda Pearcey, is this week’s Lawtons Athlete of the Week for women's basketball.
Amanda helped the Mystics to go 2-0 this past weekend, with two excellent performances on the court. She led the Mystics' attack in a Friday win over the UKC Blue Devils, securing 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Pearcey was also essential in the Mystics’ Saturday win over the MTA Mounties, securing a game-high 28 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Pearcey averaged 23.5 points per game on 46% shooting, including 43% from the 3-point line. She consistently hit big baskets to help increase the team’s lead or to stop the opponent’s scoring run & momentum. Pearcey helped the Mystics to secure their 3rd and 4th consecutive win and 10th overall win this season.
A Biology and Psychology student, Amanda is from Torbay, NL.
Isaac Matheson
Third-year guard, Isaac Matheson, is this week’s Lawtons Athlete of the Week for men's basketball.
Isaac Matheson led the Mystics with 19 points in a win over UKC, and led again with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in a win over Mount Allison.
A Business Administration student, Isaac is from Bedford, NS.
